11Apply to cancel your contract◆ To cancel your contract, please contact the management office for your rental at least one month in advance.◆ Rent will be charged for one month from the day you notify the office that you plan to vacate.Vacating Your RentalCalculation of deposit◆ The cost of returning the rental to its original state and any outstanding rent will be deducted from the deposit, and thedifference will be refunded.◆ If the deposit does not cover the owed amount, you will be billed for the difference. Please pay the bill.4Conrmation on leaving◆ The renter and a representative from the management office (or company consigned to do the inspection) will do a nal checkon the day you move out. You will return the key on this day.◆ You will also be asked to conrm the costs of restoring the rental to its original state and the amount you are required to pay.3Procedures until the day of leaving◆ Once you know the date you will vacate the rental, please contact the management office for your building and submit therequired Notication of Moving Out by post.Once Ontec receives the Notication of Moving Out, the date of departure, etc. and procedures for nal conrmation on thedate of departure will be conrmed by phone or in writing.◆ Please ensure that all belongings are removed from the premises by the date of departure.◆ You are responsible for disposing of all garbage, waste, etc. associated with vacating your rental.◆ Please arrange for all utilities to be stopped by date of departure. (For electricity, please arrange cancellation for the nal dayso that the electricity will be on for the conrmation.)◆ Please arrange for cancellation/transfer of internet service. If you had an optical line, etc. installed, you may be required toremove the line. Since arranging removal of the line may take some time, please take the necessary procedures early.◆ Please submit a notication of address change to the post office.◆ For chintai nyukyoshamuke kasai hoken (re insurance for renters), please take the necessary procedures to cancel ortransfer the insurance.◆ If you are enrolled in monthly paid Living Protection Coverage Renter’s Insurance, cancellation procedures are unnecessary asthe insurance will be automatically cancelled when you vacate your rental.216
